In 1976, just a few years after Roe vs Wade was legislated, Lynne had an abortion in her sixth week of pregnancy. Her precious son would have been 36 years old today and for 30 of those 36 years, Lynne has been on a powerful and restorative healing journey. Pursuing that journey through counseling, Bible studies focused on healing from the devastation of abortion and one on one peer counseling with women who desire to find healing themselves has had a profound impact in Lynne's life; not just because it has led her to a place of personal healing but also because it has allowed her to be part of that healing for other women.
Abortion has affected every facet of Lynne's life, including her marriage, her parenting, her relationships with her family members and her friendships. It has only been through the long and difficult healing journey that she has come to fully embrace the huge hold that her abortion experience has had on both her feelings about herself and her feelings about others. Her grief and angst over her choice drove her choices and behaviors for many years after her abortion. But God had other plans for her and He has led her through a powerful healing that continues every day of her life even now! God has shown her His love and forgiveness in countless ways through the consequences of her choice to abort and her healing journey. Lynne is grateful beyond expression that He loves her unconditionally and offers His grace to her new every morning, despite her imperfections!
Lynne feels deeply called by God to share her abortion experience and has done so in women's groups, at a pregnancy care banquet and in talks at spiritual retreats that she has served on teams for. Each time she shares the consequences of her choice, for both her son's destiny and hers, she is overwhelmed with gratitude that God continues to redeem her son's short life by making his story HER story. She is very passionate about being used by God to help seek out women who have had abortion experiences and desire healing. Lynne is grateful to be a part of the ARIN team and looks forward to seeing how God will use her for the Kingdom here!
