Sandy Arena is the beloved wife of Sam Arena, and mom to three beautiful children Alexis, Caleb and Anna.
A former journalist and publicist with aBachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications, she is the founder of the Yahweh Ballet dance company based in Rochester, NY and its live, traveling production called The Life Ballet. The Life Ballet was written and created by Sandy who had two abortions she deeply regrets when she was a young adult. She has had the opportunity to memorialize her unborn children's lives and share her personal story of regret and healing with the family she now has, as they all travel together to perform. Sandy is passionate about sharing a message of new life and healing from Jesus Christ to those affected by abortion and other emotional wounds through the arts and through public speaking.
Most recently, she founded a public awareness group called Silent Dancers for Lifewhere dancers move in silence in front of abortion clinics to raise awareness of the injustice of abortion.Sandy completed a leadership training program in July 2012 in post abortive recovery at ARIN’s Share Symposium and has facilitated Jennifer Disney’s Up from the Ashes Bible Study in Rochester, NY. She has been a guest speaker at prolife events and on radio and television including The Miracle Channelin Lethbridge, Canada, TCT.TV, Monday Minute, and Kim Ketola’s Cradle My Heart Radio. Recently,The Life Ballet dancers performed in a prolife music video of the song This Time written and performed by John Elefante. A fitness instructor and avid runner, she is also the author of the book Yahweh Ballet: Learning to Dance by Faith and a homeschool mom. She is a photographer and asongwriter who wrote much of the original music for The Life Ballet. In 2009, was named as one of the 175 Empowered Women in Rochester in honor of the city's 175th Anniversary by the Rochester Genesee Valley Club.
