Patty Utzurrum, Board Member

Patty was born in San Jose CA and grew up in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Had a tumultuous childhood and at the age of 15 she had an abortion out of a deep fear of abandonment from her parents and things spiraled out of control afterward. Suicidal and self destructive, she dropped out of High School and got her GED. After years of trying to find herself (or “free” herself?) through the use of drugs, alcohol, and “other avenues” to no avail, she moved to to Southern California where she met and married her husband to be and eventually found Saddleback Church.

Saddleback Church became a training ground of sorts for Patty where she found forgiveness and healing. She completed the 75 hour Lay Counseling Training Course taught at the church, completed an 18 month Celebrate Recovery 12 step group and joined the leadership team in Celebrate Recovery for a 9 month period and felt lead and decided to focus on the Post Abortion Support Group under Pastoral Care at the church. She went through the group in Fall of 2005 and has lead the groups until she moved in December of 2010. She has also completed a number of in depth courses in Chaplain Training taught by the head Chaplain for the FBI through the Disaster Relief Program at Saddleback Church.

In mid-December 2010 Patty and her husband moved to and now reside in Eagle Point, Oregon where she attends Trail Christian Fellowship and is currently seeking a volunteer position at the Rogue Valley Pregnancy Resource Center in Medford where they offer the Forgiven and Set Free bible study for post abortive women. Patty is self employed, working as an external/web-based bookkeeper for non-profit and for profit organizations since 2005.

Patty has a passion for guiding and leading women who are suffering from the regret and loss after-effects of abortion and is dedicated to this ministry.  Patty is a great asset to the ARIN Team!
